Recharging your brain

Wow it seems like a long time since I’ve written a blog not dedicated to 1k-a-day! I hope all participates had a great time and the winners enjoy all of the great books we gave out.

I’ve promised myself to step away from writing for a few weeks to rest and rejuvenate. As much as writing each day is important, it’s also good to give your brain a rest. Each time I do this, I make sure to continue my research and read tons of books. In the past, at the end of my time off I’ve found that my plot and characters are more alive than they were before the break. I hope this time is the same and I’ll be excited to jump back into Word and work toward completing both books that I started for 1k-a-day. Make sure you keep in mind that it's good to step away and come back with fresh eyes!

Another time consuming thing in my life other than writing and researching is the new addition to the YAedge family. Meet 3 month old Milo, a Pembroke Welsh Corgi! He'll keep me busy during my month off from writing!

He's so sweet! And those ears! ;) Can't wait to read more about your adventures with Milo...just make sure he doesn't eat your notes and pencils.
